Bright, comfortable, friendly household. Quiet street. Clapton, E5. Mon-Thurs nights only
Overview
Description
Your room is right next to a bathroom, which you'll share with our 23 year old daughter when she's here. Others occasionally stay over for the odd night and they will use your bathroom too. In your room, there’s space for some clothes and other belongings. You’re welcome to leave a few things when you're not here, on the understanding that others may use the room in the meantime. It’s a quiet street and your room is at the back of the house overlooking the garden.
This room is available for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights only. We've had happy experiences of people committing to periods of just three nights (rent adjusted accordingly) as well as for all four. Although it's double bed, we're expecting one person only. The room is not set up for working from home. We’re open to suggestions and requests that would make you feel more comfortable.
You’ll be sharing the kitchen with Caroline, Paul and our daughter when she's here. The house is clean, uncluttered and welcoming. We enjoy our work and spend our evenings quietly - you’d be welcome to join us for the occasional meal, game of cards or both. We have a young cat, Vivienne Westwood who is fun. She's also quite hairy which could be a problem if you're allergic...
All bills are included, there is good WiFi, you’re welcome to use the washing machine if you need to. We'll supply (nice!) bed linen and towels.
The house is an easy walk to Clapton Station (10 mins to Liverpool St which links with the amazing Elizabeth Line). Homerton, Hackney Downs and Hackney Central Stations are also near, as well as many bus routes. It's a pleasant (longish- 35 min or so) walk to Stratford and Stratford International train stations.
We’re 2 mins walk to Clapton Pond, home of Palm2, an exemplary ‘corner shop’ selling food from all over the world. The area is well served with other shops - a Tesco Metro, Turkish supermarket, organic shop, chemist, numerous restaurants, cafes and pubs, including an amazing Vietnamese restaurant that does great take out.
At the end (or beginning) of the working day a three minute walk to the bottom of the road takes you to the River Lea Navigation, close to marshes and wetlands. It’s beautiful there. You can walk to the Olympic Park in about 20 minutes or stroll to the Wetlands Centre or simply meander your way along the tow-path. Great area for walking, cycling, running, playing tennis and rowing.
Clapton, Homerton, Hackney Central & Hackney Downs Stations are up to 10 mins walk.Loads of busses from Clapton Pond: 38, 55, 56, 106, 242, 253, 254, 308, 425, 488. Using the Elizabeth Line you can get from here to Tottenham Court Rd in 40 mins. There's a lamppost outside where you could lock your bike. If you need to drive, street parking is easily available, as well as electric charge points (one directly outside) - we can help you arrange parking vouchers/permit with the council.
