Find your ideal lodger and create your Ideal Home
As we prepare for Spring and to support those of you welcoming a lodger into your home, we’re running a competition on purchases of PLUS adverts until 5th March, to help you revamp your home and gain a little inspiration.
It’s February, the days are finally getting longer and it feels like Spring is just around the corner. Before we can start enjoying spending more time outdoors, it’s the perfect time to take a look inward and think about giving the home a revamp, dusting off the remains of winter, ready to welcome in Spring.
1. An eye for detail - Changing the handles on furniture can be a quick and inexpensive way to freshen up tired furniture with a more contemporary look.
2. The power of scent - Change the tone in your home by adding a room diffuser in the hallway or entrance to help create a multisensory welcoming and homely impression as soon as you enter.
3. A splash of colour - No need to splash out on painting a whole room, look for smaller spaces which could support colour without dominating such as alcoves or shelving areas, or behind a set of pictures to help them pop. Check out the Pantone colour of the year for inspiration! If committing to paint feels too big a step, perhaps give peel and stick wallpaper a try to test out a new look.
4. Try a new layout - Rearranging furniture can create a whole new feeling or flow to a room, and allow you to enjoy the space or lighting in a different way.
5. Bring the outdoors in - Adding a few new plant friends to your home is a great way to breathe life into your home after winter while improving air quality. See if there are local flower markets where you can find plants at a more affordable price or even better, see if your friends own overgrown plants from which they can share a clipping so you can grow your own!
